                                                                              Restoration Rendezvous: Reconnecting the NRDAR Community

The Office of Restoration and Damage Assessment (ORDA) will host the 2023 National Natural Resource Damage Assessment and Restoration (NRDAR) Workshop from Tuesday, April 18th through Thursday, April 20th in New Orleans, Louisiana at The Jung Hotel & Residences. The purpose of this Workshop is to provide a forum for networking and sharing of experiences among practitioners, and to showcase damage assessment and restoration progress and successes. We are also providing optional training opportunities on Friday, April 21st. Please add your preferred training to your agenda, so we can ensure capacity. This year’s registration and agenda will be managed through Sched. As shown in the draft agenda, the private sector and NGO’s are invited to join on the Open Day (Wednesday, April 19th) and Thursday, April 20th is Festive Shirt Day! Please note that days and times of specific sessions may change. Overview: This course provides the 8 hour HAZWOPER refresher training that is required for employees to maintain HAZWOPER certification.

Learning objectives
  • Identify basic emergency response procedures and personnel responsibilities
  • Demonstrate knowledge of hazardous substances and their health hazards and risks
  • Recognize hazardous materials incidents and be able to identify likely hazards
  • Describe the Incident Command System (ICS) and function in an assigned role
  • Select, use, and care for personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators
Prerequisites 
  • The 24 hour and/or 40 hour HAZWOPER course(s)
Supplies needed 
  • Pen/Pencil. Workbooks will be provided
